Raleigh 6/10 Setlist
SETLIST:
Harborcoat ("Good evening") Living Well Bad Day Kenneth 1,000,000 ("Hey you people on the lawn, check this shit out") Man-Sized Wreath Welcome To The Occupation Accelerate 7 Chinese Brothers Hollow Man Imitation of Life ("Our first #1 single...in Japan") Houston ("This is about the Katrina situation") Electrolite ("This is a west-coast song, and we're sending it out to Modest Mouse") Walk Unafraid The One I Love Final Straw Find The River Let Me In Horse To Water Auctioneer (Another Engine) Orange Crush I'm Gonna DJ Supernatural Superserious Losing My Religion Pretty Persuasion ("This is about growing up queer in the south") Fall On Me ("Please welcome to the stage, Johnny Marr!") Sitting Still ("You might have noticed the two men to our right, Mitch Easter and Don Dixon. This is called Sitting Still") Man On The Moon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SITTING STILL AND HARBORCOAT!!!!! Opening with Harborcoat was God-like, crowd and band had tons of energy, Lawn was packed. 1,000,000 makes awesome tour debut, Stipe told stories about how NC was a place that was important in the early days, playing some of their first shows in the Triangle, and that they would play us songs that were coming around back then. The choice to play 3 acoustic songs in the middle was interesting, shame people left. The "hits" had a ton of participation, and Fall On Me and Pretty Persuasion were very "singalongable". And we all witnessed R.E.M. history when Mitch and Don came up and helped play Sitting Still. Man On The Moon had a ridiculous amount of jumping around and "yeah yeah yeah yeahs" and the occasional singalongs. Such an amazing performance. National were amazing, for those of us who saw them. Modest Mouse was intense and so was the crowd. I have the setlist somewhere, but I can tell you that Tiny Cities, View, Good Times, Satin in a coffin, Dashboard, and Doin the Cockroach were played. Great Show!!!! |

Is it just me or do their sets keep getting better and better each night?
At this rate they'll be playing Perfect Circle and I Believe in Atlanta. Well..one can dream, anyway. ![]()

So Fast, So Numb was amazing. Didn't get Walk Unafraid (which I know for some of you would be a blessing, but I REALLY wanted to hear it). I felt that the set list last night was far superior is al. ![]()

Re: Raleigh 6/10 Setlist
Hmm... Out of all the setlists so far, I think this one might be the winner. Sorry Denise and others. I mean, 7 Chinese Brothers, Harborcoat, Sitting Still, Welcome to the Occupation, Find the River, Pretty Persuasion!!!!!
The Berkeley setlists were pretty amazing too. Anyone else notice that they are playing more songs from Reckoning than any other of their I.R.S. albums this tour? Might be because, like Accelerate, Reckoning (mostly) rocks. |
